June 24 2010: We are very pleased to announce that Avon Motorcycle Tyres North America is now the official tyre sponsor of Virtual Riding TV. We will be riding exclusively on Avon's Cobra touring tyres for the 2010 season.

I will be doing a full review at a later date, till then here are the Cobra's key points.
June 13th 2010: Yesterday I was on my way to do some filming at Duffey Lake accompanied by a long time friend. About an hour after our departure we were exiting the #1 Highway at Hope, British Columbia when my drive belt broke.
Not a good way to start a ride on such a beautiful day. My friend was very cool about it saying these things happen and we'll do it again another day.

I called Mountainview Harley-Davidson in Chilliwack, explained my situation and asked if they could put my new belt on today, their response, yes we can, bring it in.

Here's the kicker, I have a belt at home that was going to be installed next week with a new set of tires (timing's everything). I asked Karol if he would go to my house, pick up the belt and sprocket, then meet me at the Harley shop. With out any hesitation he replied, "sure no problem" and was on his way.

I called Hope Towing, and within 15 minutes the truck and motorcycle trailer arrived. The driver Harry had my bike loaded and strapped down in minutes, we were on our way.

When we arrived in Chilliwack the service at Mountainview HD was fantastic, they got my bike up on the hoist right away, removed my saddlebag, shock, belt guards, drive sprocket cover and sprocket, then waited for my friend to arrive with the parts. The wait wasn't long, the parts arrived and were put on right away. Special thanks to the service staff for all their help in getting my bike back on the road.
If something like this had to happen, I don't think it could have been under better circumstances. The belt broke at 10:30 am and by 2:30 pm I was riding again. Special thanks goes to Hope Towing, Mountainview Harley-Davidson, and my friend Karol for all their help. I definitely appreciate everyone's efforts in yesterday's adventure.

Broken drive belt on Vridetv's camera equipped Harley-Davidson V-Rod.
This has made me realize how much I need a satellite phone considering the amount of riding I do, alone, and in remote areas that are without any cell phone reception. Today I was very lucky...In all fairness to the belt, it had about 80,000 kilometers on it & hadn't been adjusted in a while. In 7 years and 84,000 kilometers this is the first time I've ever been broken down on the side of the road. I need to find a Harley-Davidson shop sponsor and have a full service performed on my bike.
