On the left is the OEM footpeg and brake pad inserts for a 2005 VRSCSE CVO VROD.
On the right is the OEM footpeg and brake pad inserts for a 2006 VRSCSE2 CVO VROD. I like the chrome ones better but I will keep the stock inserts in a box with all other OEM parts I've switched on this bike.

I've always liked the footpeg inserts on the 2006 VRSCSE2 CVO VROD better than the basic black rubber pads on my 2005 VRSCSE CVO VROD so I was happy to find these brand new ones on eBay.

VRSC VROD floorboards update

While working on my bike I noticed there was a black mark on the right side VRSC floorboard from making contact with the aftermarket fuel tank made by Unlimited Engineering. I was both grateful and relieved that there was no damage done to the tank and no leaks were seen or smelt.
A grinding drum on a Dremel was used to remove enough material to ensure this will never happen again, here's a before and after pic.

Progressive Suspension 444 series springs

Swapping out the heavy duty springs on these Progressive Suspension 444 series rear shocks for a set of standard rate springs.
The Heavy duty springs are for a rider 250 pounds and up or if there was a passenger on the bike the majority of the time.
After loosing approximately 30 pounds the HD springs were just too stiff for me.
After contacting Progressive Suspension they got the correct springs and the tool I needed to swap them out myself. The red arrow indicates the snap ring exposed one the spring was compressed. Removing that allows the spring to be removed.

Update on the 2003 Harley-Davidson 100th anniversary VRSCA VROD transformation

Spent a good portion of the winter working on my silver 2003 V-ROD & made a lot of changes to it:
- Screamin' Eagle 16 gauge muffler kit
- CVO headlight mounting bracket
- CVO shifter arm
- CVO brake arm
- Harley-Davidson script shifter linkage
- Chrome headlight bucket
- VRSC passenger floorboards
- Replaced almost every bolt with Colony Chrome hardware (full list on link below)
- Corbin saddlebags (still haven't decided on paint)
- Re-located the PIAA light to the lower legs
- Sanded & polished compensatory bowl
- Sanded & polished rear pulley
- Sanded & polished rear brake disc
- Sanded & polished both front brake discs
- Sanded & polished lower legs
I was riding the Carbon fiber VROD up until now, but it sold yesterday, so It's time to pull this one off the lift and ride it. The rest of the work that I have planned will have to wait until next winter. It's riding season!

Carbon fiber Vrod SOLD

This 2003 Carbon fiber Harley-Davidson 100th anniversary VRSCA VROD has been SOLD
It was picked up & delivered to the new owner yesterday.
I will honestly miss this bike, over the last seven years I've developed a strong emotional attachment to it, with lots of great memories of the amazing places it took me. I've spent countless hours sanding and polishing the aluminum parts over the winters and have enjoyed customizing it to what my vision was for it.
Now that it's gone, I already have seller's remorse...
However, I'm happy it's going to a good home and after many conversations with the gentleman I'm confident that he will take good care of it. Congratulations Sir you have yourself a great motorcycle.
