VROD compensator bowl

Now that the pulley has been sanded and polished it's time to start the compensator bowl. Sanding off the casting seam & imperfections with 220 grit is all done. Next: 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000 then polish with AutoSol.
Best part of this is being able to use a palm sander instead of doing it all by hand.

Vrod pulley polishing

After spending an obscene amount of time sanding this pulley using 220 320 400 600 800 1000 2000 grit sandpaper it was sure nice to finally start polishing.

Well it's that time of the year again, ugh Winter, also know as sanding and polishing season. This OEM Harley-Davidson Vrod rear pulley came with a very thick layer of textured paint. Sanding that off does reveal casting seams and imperfections in the aluminum but spending the time and elbow grease to sand through the grades of sandpaper will leave this with a mirror finish.
Meanwhile back at the asylum: Sanding done on this side.
220 grit done
320 grit done
400 grit done
600 grit done
800 grit done
1000 grit done
2000 grit done
Still have to polish this side but will wait until I finish the other side with 800, 1000, 2000

VROD air filter assembly modification

Vrod owners have been going topless for years, where they remove the top half snorkel of the air filter assembly. Then some have gone farther and trimmed away the bottom half of the air filter assembly leaving only the necessary surface for the filter. This is know as the "Budget MotoHooligan"
Thought I'd finally give it a try and on my goodness am I glad I did!
The bike now is able to breathe as it should and when I grab a fist full of throttle it sounds like the old muscle cars with a Rochester Quadrajet carb when the secondaries fully open up!!!!

VROD IAT sensor extension

BIG HUGE SHOUTOUT to Brandon Phillips (Engineer in Detroit) for making me this 12 inch IAT extension using Deutsch waterproof connectors and the matching IAT sensor connections. Click, click, done... It's that easy to install.
Backstory: After going topless and also doing the air cleaner bottom mod the OEM harness was too short for where I wanted to install it. (there was no way I was going to cut the wires and just add a section)
So I reached out to him and asked if he would consider making one and I'm grateful to have the prototype, don't change a thing Sir, it's perfect! (and everyone knows the level of my OCD)
